I always like to blog about subjects that I think are helpful to you.  From great tips for selling your home, things to do around Austin, home maintenance tips, an occasional guest blogger, and more…I like to give you a variety and I hope you will check out all of my blog topics here.  I will continue to “mix it up” for you, but in the coming months, I thought it might be helpful to occasionally take a look at specific Austin neighborhoods and areas of Austin.  I have watched Austin grow from a small town into a big bustling city (all while “Keeping It Weird” along the way) and I would like to focus on areas around town and let you know what they have to offer.  So, please stop by often and see what we will focus on next.  This month…Travis Country.

Austin Neighborhoods: Travis Country

Travis Country is located in the Southwest area of Austin and is near the “Y” at Oak Hill.  You can see on Google Maps that it is conveniently located near many major highways  – such as Loop 1 (MoPac), 290, 71 (Ben White Blvd.), and 360 (Capital of Texas Highway).

Travis Country is a tree-covered, planned community with beautiful parks, swimming pools, its own duck pond, tennis courts, and many more amenities.

Hungry?  Great news!  Because Travis Country is so close to many of Austin’s major thoroughfares, there is no shortage of tasty restaurants to tempt your palate.

Need to do some shopping? Travis Country is just minutes away from Barton Creek Square Mall as well as other fantastic retail stores.

Want to get some exercise in our beautiful sunny weather?  Zilker Park and Zilker Botanical Garden are only approximately 6 miles away (close enough to enjoy, but far enough from the traffic during festival times! Perfect!)  And, don’t forget the Barton Creek Greenbelt is nearby for some wonderful outdoor activities as well.

Want to get to downtown Austin easily?  Downtown Austin has so much to offer!  Work, play, eat, drink, and, of course, I can’t forget our live music!  Because Travis Country has easy access to major highways, it is convenient to downtown Austin.  It’s the best of both worlds.  You can enjoy the downtown hustle and bustle, but then go home to your quiet neighborhood of Travis Country.
