It just doesn’t get much better than Spring Break week in Austin, Texas.  Sure…the Texas coast is fun.  But, Austin has so many events next week – how will you choose?  Or will you?  Maybe you are going to enjoy a little of all of them!  That’s the fun of Austin.

So, what all do we have coming up?

Events In Austin This Week

SXSW – (March 13-22, 2015) This film, music, and interactive festival is always an international phenomenon in Austin.  Every year bands, industry leaders, filmmakers, and celebrities flock to our wonderful city to showcase their latest and greatest offering in their field.  As if the city isn’t already buzzing with excitement, Austin really comes alive during “south by” (which is how you will hear locals refer to it).  If you haven’t had the chance before to check out some of the indie films or experience some of the new sounds, you should really try to catch some of them.  Be aware that traffic and getting around can become difficult.  Make sure you click on the link and view the “Attend” tab as it has transportation information.

Rodeo Austin – The Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo will host Rodeo Austin March 14-28, 2015.  I love their slogan this year, “Where Weird Meets Western.”  How fun and “Austin” is that?  The rodeo is always a great place to bring your whole family.  The livestock show is fun for the kids.  They can see the animals up close before the rodeo.  And, of course, the fair is always packed with thrill-rides and games to test your luck.  So, grab your boots and your hat and head on out there!

Food Crawl Austin – (March 13-18, 2015) – Austin has some fabulous restaurants and trailers.  During SXSW, they get to really show off some of their culinary creations.  The food crawl is designed to give you a taste of some of Austin’s finest.  And, be sure and click on the link because not only does it have important information for you, but they are offering prizes as well.

University of Texas Longhorn Baseball – We’ve had a lot of overcast days in the Austin area lately.  The sun is forecast to peek out over Spring Break.  What better way to enjoy your pastime than with “America’s favorite pastime?”  The Longhorns are playing at Disch Falk Field this week, but please click the link for an up-to-date schedule.

St. Patrick’s Day Austin 2015 – (March 17, 2015) – This event looks like it will have something for the entire family.  They are proud to present (as their website describes), “an authentic display of Irish culture and pride!”  Be sure and click the link because you can save a little money if you pre-purchase your tickets online rather than waiting to buy them at the gate.
