Back to school time is upon us, and parents are thinking about registration for their children, and getting ready for that big first day of school. For your convenience below I have provided the following: websites, registration times, and when classes begin for Austin ISD, Round Rock ISD, Hays Consolidated ISD, and Leander ISD to help you to enroll your child at the proper time. These websites give detailed information on how to enroll and what documents are required. Please remember that you will want to check with your child’s district and/or school for the most up-to-date information.
AISD School Schedule
Registration can be completed for AISD students at their online site.

AISD Registration and Orientations Schedule
Elementary school registration:
- Monday, Aug 8 at 8:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, Aug 9 at 8:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, Aug 10 at 8:00 a.m.
- Thursday, Aug 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Middle school registration:
- Wednesday, Aug 10 at 8:00 a.m.
Middle school orientation:
- Thursday, Aug 11 at 8:30 a.m.
High school registration:
- Tuesday, Aug 9 at 9:00 a.m.
- Wednesday, Aug 10 at 9:00 a.m.
High school orientation:
- Thursday, Aug 11 at 9:30 a.m.
The first day of classes for Austin students is Monday, Aug 22.
Round Rock ISD School Schedule
For Round Rock students, parents can enroll and register online. Each student will be given a “Snap Code” to use in this process. Registration will begin August 15 for returning students, and for new students, registration started in July.
The first day of classes for Round Rock students is Tuesday, Aug 23.

Hays Consolidated ISD School Schedule
Registration is completed online. For new and returning students both, enrollment began July 1.
Classes will begin Monday, Aug 22.

Be Safe and Have a Great School Year
I hope these dates get you ready and organized for a wonderful school year! Again, please remember to check your district and/or school’s websites to verify dates and times as they may change.
Also, please remember as students return to school that there are many safety rules that we need to be mindful of. We all know them, but we sometimes get in a hurry and we don’t want to forget and cause harm. So, remember: Please stop for buses that are loading/unloading and watch for children walking and riding their bikes/scooters to school. Refrain from using your cell phone in school zones. In the Austin area, you must use hands-free anyway, so in school zones it may just be best to wait before dialing at all. Keep your mind on the road and all that’s going on around you.
